Executive Search Success Stories
Director of Marketing for a Trade Association
A prestigious trade association hired Shira to fill a newly created Director of Marketing role. The new Director would be the first-ever marketing executive to create internal branding synergy within the membership services team. The challenge: finding an executive who would bring innovative ideas to its marketing strategy. The request: recruit a marketing executive from the corporate, rather than the association, sector.
After spending several hours with key stakeholders, Shira grasped the cultural dynamics and realized that she would need to find a candidate with both the ROI focus and consensus building skills to navigate the political landscape. She presented a final slate of candidates, and the client selected a corporate marketing executive whose notable accomplishment was creating the “Blue M&M” campaign for Mars, Inc. The client writes: “Shira provided an exceptional pool of candidates and made our job extremely hard to choose one candidate, as they all were top-notch.”
Assistant VP of Program Development in an Educational Nonprofit
An educational nonprofit hired Shira to identify an Assistant Vice President of Program Development who would initiate creative programming for its higher education constituents. Understanding that the ideal candidate would need to possess a personal passion for the humanitarian mission of this organization, Shira identified a rising professional from the Children’s Defense Fund who, two weeks after being hired, was named by Ebony Magazine as among the 50 emerging minority leaders in America. The client writes: “Shira asked us thought-provoking questions that we may not have considered. Within a month we had hired exactly who we were looking for.”
